Black Krim
The Black Krim is a well-known Heirloom tomato. Heirloom tomatoes will “breed true” when pollinated by themselves, and their descendant plants will continue to produce the same size and variety of fruit. This tomato produces unusually colored, large, ribbed fruits that are excellent on a sandwich or burger. A comparable (and more familiar) hybrid might be the Beefsteak variety.
I bought the Black Krim plant I’m growing this year at the end of the vegetable season. It was on sale at the co-op, and I just couldn’t resist. We’ll see how it does.
