Foxglove, Dwarf Foxy
digitalis purpurea, dwarf
WARNING: The stem and seeds of this plant are poisonous to humans, dogs, and other animals.
Foxglove is a perennial plant with showy bell-shaped flowers. The “Dwarf Foxy” variety should grow to around 18 inches in height and is advertised as a variety that will flower in the first year. Foxglove, if pollinated by insects, will self-seed, requiring occasional thinning for optimal growth.
I’ve intermixed the foxglove with purple coneflower seeds in the hopes that they’ll form a nice “back tier” along the shade side of the house, hiding the ugly gas meter.
