Care and Chores

  • Planting: Full sun; 2-3 per group

My Notes

  • 2009 Batch 1
    • Planted seed 23Jan09
    • first sprout 31Jan09. Seedlings sprouted very quickly; see Leggy Seedlings.
    • Transplanted 22Feb09. to hippie planters, got cold-scarred during low temps. (Don’t seem to do well at all if the temp drops below 50 degrees at night). Thinking that part of the problem was that I could see roots in the clear planters, I transplanted to larger pots as of 27Feb09 to some of the pots I got from Matt. Left them out again on the night of 1March 09 and they got cold-scarred again… not sure they’ll pull through this time.
  • 2009 Batch 2
    • Planted Seed in garden, 2 March 09. As of April 18, they didn’t develop very far and seem to have had lots of insect and growth problems; I’m going to dig them up and put them in a pot as I prepare to amend the soil in that bed.
  • 2009 Batch 3
    • Seeded indoors with the luffas and some pole beans; planted one of the seedings in the garden on 19Apr09.
