Well, my Jiffy Pot experiences were lackluster, so I’d recommend not using them. But if you do — do something I didn’t, and remove the netting!

Well, my Jiffy Pot experiences were lackluster, so I’d recommend not using them. But if you do — do something I didn’t, and remove the netting! Hey, time for a sprout-off update! It’s been five days now since I planted, and I’ve got seedlings on all the veggies and some on the flowers. This is the first time I’ve tried Jiffy Pods. Being the Typcial Male ™ that I am, I ripped open the packaging and threw away the top before I read it. Then I immediately tried to plant seeds in the hard packed, compressed peat pods without having soaked them first. This is what we call [...] Since my newbie soil mistake is creating some damned leggy plants, I decided to start over in some cases in case I can’t salvage the leggy ones. (Luckily, I had plenty of leftover seed.) Tonight, I threw together another tray of seedlings … this time using the right stuff. |
