Bloomin’!

After the rains we’ve had in the past week or two, the garden and yard have suddenly come alive with blooms and buds of all sorts.

The aloe vera plant on my front porch has some spectacular buds on it. Before the stalk formed, I had no clue that aloe plants bloomed! The flower stalk has been forming for several weeks, and in the past day or two has deepened to a wonderful salmon hue. The flowers, when they arrive, should be spectacular.

Not to be outdone, the Marigolds I’ve planted around the entire house are promising to bloom shortly.

And in the backyard, I have my first blooms on the two store-bought tomato plants (Roma and Sweet 100’s). My own seedlings aren’t far behind.

The store-bought pepper plants are also in bloom. Next year I’ll know to start even earlier under grow lights…

Looks like it’s finally spring! Now if I can just get some fruit to set before summer…
