As Michele points out, there’s no exception for backyard vegetable gardens or organic farms. If you give a neighbor your spare zucchini (and doesn’t everyone have spare zucchini?) then you’re liable for a million dollar fine if you don’t register yourself and get inspected quarterly. And forget organic practices.
Find your state representative and tell them to either vote no on or to amend HR 875.
Yeah, this thing definitely needs a home garden/small farm exception. I read a summary of it and it is very broad.
I am definitely calling all my reps in Washington as soon as I get home.
